The Emergency Assistance Service Effort (EASE) was founded in the Town of Davie in 1988 to fill a social services gap in the area.  It was a small-scale operation which started with very minimal resources to respond to a need in the Davie/Cooper City area.  The purpose was to aid those qualified residents, on a one time basis who were in need of emergency assistance and to offer a helping hand to help them regain their dignity and financial stability.  In the nearly 30 years since then, EASE also maintained a food pantry open to Broward County residents and also broadened client reach providing financial assistance to veterans, the disabled and single family households throughout Broward County.  Historically, EASE always did a holiday outreach program providing food, gift cards and toys to hundreds of families and hosted an annual backpack and school supply drive.

In 2017, after careful consideration, the Board of Directors of the EASE Foundation decided that it would be most effective if EASE could combine its resources with its neighbor, The Hope Outreach Center in Davie which is larger and has more available resources and staffing.  Over the years, the two agencies have worked side by side providing assistance to clients.   We are pleased to announce that with the collaboration and marriage of both organizations, we can further the goal of EASE to continue to provide a “hand up and not a hand out” to those families who are trying to help themselves.
